Mareije Roosen

The can-do attitude that often comes with the new product development process gives me a lot of energy. It's great to pass this energy on to others!

Background

After I graduated at Delft University of Technology with a master in Innovation Management I joined TomTom in 2004, shortly after their introduction of the first dedicated personal navigation device (PND). Whilst working at TomTom, this first PND lead to a mature market of navigation devices. To be closer to designing and implementing what users want from a PND, I moved from the product management team to the user experience team. As a senior project manager and SCRUM master I was responsible for bringing new user experiences to the market.

Passion

I am fascinated by the translation of complex technologies into products that service a specific user need. I love the challenge to hide complexity for the user, making it a friendly and easy to use product without giving in on advanced features. The possibilities that arise when a hardware product is supported by some form of software delight me.

Expertise

I have extensive experience in bridging user needs and technical possibilities. When facing feasibility challenges I am not afraid to introduce a result that was not yet considered. My ability to overlook all dependencies, plan effectively and deliver make me an essential part of the user experience design and implementation.
